The Wireless Theatre Company (WTC) is an online audio theatre production company that was established in July 2007. Since then we have been producing plays and stories on a twice weekly basis. Over the last year we have produced over thirty downloads.

We are infectiously passionate about new writing and acting talent and believe with the popularity in iPods and MP3 players a new world for audio theatre has been born. Encouraging young people, and the “iPod Generation” to listen to plays, as well as music, on their MP3 players has become one of our main aims.

The Wireless Theatre Company’s first year has been very successful, with over a million hits and 1,500+ unique users a month. Our productions have been downloaded over ten thousand times.

The company has collaborated with Prunella Scales, Nicholas Parsons, George Costigan and Richard O’Brien as well as donations from Alison Steadman, Richard Wilson, Sheila Hancock and Michael Kitchen.

The company was set up to actively encourage and promote new writers, actors and directors to contribute material to be performed for broadcast on the Internet and to encourage people to listen to audio plays as well as music on their personal stereo systems.

With all the growing mediums in the world for entertainment, TV, film, Internet, Pod-casts, You Tube, Reality TV and more, it is important to keep a high profile for audio drama. WTC is specifically designed for exciting new innovations like iPods and MP3 players.  Downloads bring audio theatre to the younger generations through the use of the internet and brings the World Wide Web to the older generations via a simple and easy to use website.
